Khabarovsk hosted Krai Ship Modelling Competition

Thirty-two competitors from four Krai Districts – Khabarovsk, Ulchi, Komsomolsk-on-Amur and the City of Khabarovsk – participated in the competition dedicated to the 325th anniversary of signing the Order on Establishing of a Standard Russian Navy by Tsar Peter the First.

Khabarovsk hosted Krai Ship Modelling Competition
The Under Sail of Opportunities Project, that included the regional competition, provides a great help to the project participants in finding their vocation.
The project organizer, the Center of Technical Creativity for Children of the Regional Modeling Center State Independent Educational Institution, is confident that interest in ship modelling in Russia is going through a modern shift that includes use of computer design, 3D modelling, laser cutting, commutatorless motors and modern radio-control systems.

Besides organizing the engineering competitions, such educational institutions help students develop an engineering mindset allowing them to go into higher education and realize their full potential in various industries.

In addition to the competitions, the Under Sail of Opportunities Project, supported by the Sakhalin-1 Consortium, covers workshops for modelling and controlling ships of various kinds.
Support of education and engineering subjects specifically is one of the focus areas of the Sakhalin-1 Consortium contribution programs. Many projects, supported by Exxon Neftegas Limited on behalf of the Sakhalin-1 Consortium, help to open new educational opportunities for students: cutting-edge scientific and technical equipment help students and schoolchildren learn the most complicated elements through hands-on practice and apply state-of-the-art technologies, while the new educational programs enable students to get all knowledge and skills without leaving their native region.
