These compact computers are light and thin, with battery life of up to 12 hours, which makes them ideal for educational needs.

Support of education is one of the priority areas in the charity program of Sakhalin-1 Consortium, implemented by Exxon Neftegas Limited, the Sakhalin-1 Project Operator, on the Consortium’s behalf. “This year is no exception,” - said Margarita Tsoy, Vice President of the company. “We support a number of educational projects that include providing computers and digital equipment to educational institutions, which is particularly important nowadays. In addition to these projects, we are donating laptops to schools; they will be useful for distance learning and may be utilized for other educational purposes.”

The 110 laptops were chosen among the computers released as part of the planned replacement of the office equipment at the Sakhalin-1 facilities. All computers have passed technical inspection and have been prepared for transfer and for the installation of software required for educational purposes.  It is worth reminding that the Sakhalin school students switched to distance learning on March 26, and for many of them the school year is not over yet – in the summer they will be taking exams and preparing to apply for college. The donated computers can also be used in the next academic year.
