Sakhalin-1's Chayvo, Odoptu, and Arkutun Dagi fields, located off the northeastern coast of Sakhalin Island in the Russian Far East, are being developed using a phased approach.

Benefits to Russia

The Sakhalin-1 Project yields significant benefits to Russia including billions of dollars in revenues, domestic gas supplies to Khabarovsk Krai, employment opportunities for Russian nationals and contracting companies, and infrastructure modernization.


Environment and Safety

It is the policy of the Sakhalin-1 Project and its operator, Exxon Neftegas Limited (ENL), to conduct its business in a manner that is compatible with the balanced environmental and economic needs of the Sakhalin-1 Project communities.

Public consultations and environmental impact assessment

The purpose of this section is to provide additional information to environmental impact assessment (EIA) participants in the course of EIA materials development with regard to the projected and other activity being an object of expert review.
